Oleksii is a professor at the computer science department at the Ukrainian Catholic University. He teaches courses in NLP, complex systems, game theory, and machine learning. He also teaches at the Kyiv Academic University and the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Where will the Game Theory Summer School take place?
The Game Theory Summer School will take place in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. The event will be hosted by Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and KSE.
Is participation in Game Theory free of charge?
Yes, participation in Game Theory is free of charge. Selected participants will get access to all the lectures, practical sessions, and study materials.
What language will Game Theory be conducted in?
Since we have many international speakers and participants, all lectures, workshops, and discussions will be held in English. However, please note that the school's introduction day will be conducted in Ukrainian. For international participants, there will be a slightly adjusted format to accommodate language differences.
What will we do in case of an air raid alert?
A designated shelter will be available at the university for all participants. In the event of an air raid alert, all sessions will pause, and participants will proceed to the shelter in accordance with the safety instructions. The organizing team will provide clear guidance throughout the process.
Will ECTS credits be awarded?
Yes, we plan to issue 2 ECTS credits upon the successful completion of the course, including the submission of your final project. These credits will be issued by the Kyiv School of Economics.
Can international participants attend?
Yes! International participants are welcome. We are excited to have participants from all over the world! If you require a visa, we can provide an official invitation letter. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions — we’re happy to help!
Should I apply if I don’t have enough experience in the field of game theory?
Yes, we welcome applications from everyone! While selection is competitive and based on the strength of your application, a clear and specific motivation is key. Do I need knowledge of data science to apply?
No, advanced knowledge of data science is not required to apply. However, we do expect applicants to have basic analytical skills.
